Dr. James Shissler:  I grew up just south of Hershey next to my grandparent's farm.  Working on the home farm, my cousin's dairy, and having an uncle who is a veterinarian, I developed a strong interest in working with animals and with the agricultural community.  After attending Lebanon Valley College for a B.S. degree, I completed my veterinary education at the University of Pennsylvania in 2004.  I worked near Chambersburg for 2 years, and in California for a year, before returning closer to my home area and family.  My interests are camping, hiking, kayaking, hunting, and fishing, as well as antique tractors.  We have one dog, Corbata a greyhound, and one cat named George.

I earned my DVM from Iowa State University in 2001. After living outside of New Jersey for 4 years, my husband and I did not want to go back so we settled near Buffalo, NY. After 2 years there, we decided we wanted to be closer to our families, which is what brought us to central PA in 2003. Since then we have had two children, first a daughter, then a son. I started working at A-C Vets shortly after my son was born in 2007. We also share our home with our dog Sierra and cats Ashley and Annie. In my spare time, I enjoy being a mom and I also like to bike. You may see me pedaling to and from work in the Summer!

Dr. Emily Marhevsky: I am originally from Ohio but have also lived in North Carolina as well as Erie and Selinsgrove, PA. I received my BS degree from Millersville University. I spent time during college working at Veterinary clinics, Clyde Peeling's Reptiland, PA State Department of Agriculture-Bureau of Animal Health and Diagnostic Services, as well as the Lincoln Park Zoo in Chicago. I worked full-time at the Lincoln Park Zoo before attending Veterinary school at the University of Illinois. After graduating from Vet school in 2005, I completed an internship in small animal medicine and surgery in Denver for one year. Then I spent two years in emergency medicine in Tucson, Arizona at an emergency and specialty practice. I joined A-C Veterinary Associates in 2008 and enjoy being back on the East coast near family and friends. In my spare time I spend time with my cat, Ducky, and enjoy reading and running.
